Greater Napanee

Greater Napanee is a community that sits approximately halfway between Kingston and Belleville. From being the town where Avril Lavigne grew up and where Gibbards Furniture started, as well as home to the World famous walleye fishing derby in the Napanee River & Hay Bay, Napanee is also home to a multi-cultural festival, the Scarecrow Festival, the Christmas Shopping Party and the Taste of Napanee, as well as the ever growing Parade of Lights over the holiday season in December. 5 elementary schools and one high school dot the area, as many recreational programs and facilities. On the south west end of Greater Napanee lies the Glenora Ferry, which is a short 15 minute ferry ride to Prince Edward County, a community world renowned for its rich soil and the famous Sandbanks Provincial Park, it’s beautiful countryside and dozens of wineries and orchards. The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and the Ontario Power Generation – Lennox Generating Station are a couple of the area’s largest employers, and provides the catalyst for the growing manufacturing, commercial and resident base.
