A community consisting of over 18,000 residents, South Frontenac is an amalgamation of a number of communities north Kingston and Highway 401. Here you will find an area dotted with beautiful lakes, farmland and smaller towns, such as Sydenham, Verona, Harrowsmith and Battersea among others. Although farming is predominant throughout South Frontenac, many of the residents work in Kingston, since the municipality sits within a 30 minute commute to the City. South Frontenac is also home to many popular lakes, waterfront homes and cottages. Loughborough Lake, Sydenham Lake, Bobs Lake, Cranberry Lake and Dog Lake being some of the larger lakes in the community. If you want to live close to Kingston, but want some room to move around, and a little bit of property, South Frontenac is often the community of choice for home buyers. The various towns and hamlets each have their own school, as well as Sydenham High School serving the area. You will also find that each community in South Frontenac has it’s own amenities, including grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants and shopping.
